Composing Love in the Afternoon
Composing “Love in the Afternoon” was a beautiful experience. It was the week-end of my wedding anniversary and I wanted to create something special for my husband, David. Our deep love inspired the music and then I took the poetry we had written to each other over the years and selected lines from the poetry to create the lyrics. Fortunately our dear friend, Stanley Clarke, heard the song and agreed to grace the recording with the beauty of his bass lines. The song went on to receive rave reviews and to hit the Billboard Top Ten charts on my album, “Colors of My Heart.”
Now it has again been selected out for it’s passion and musicality to be featured on www.wnir-radio.com on their “All You Need is Love” Radio Special which airs daily at 7:30 p.m throughout the month of February. Here’s a current review for “Love in the Afternoon” from BWH Music Group:
“Pauline Frechette has managed to create one of those rare, serene songs that captures the melancholic beauty of a rapidly fading moment of bliss, and in doing so wins over the hearts of all her listeners.”
Much Love,
Pauline
